Ciara - The Evolution

Ciara’s latest cd effort is the follow up to her last album “Goodies”. It opens up with a gritty club banger which features Lil Jon with his trademark voice on the hook.

It would be fair to say that Ciara’s quirky upbeat tracks like Like A Boy with its string orchestra vibe and Get Up, the stomping R’n’B track (from the Step Up movie soundtrack) have inspired her to create some dance tracks, which will definitely have you on the dance floor.

The interludes in between see Ciara speaking on how she has evolved as a young lady, her passion for dance and life in general.

Whilst listening to C.R.U.S.H, the backing track reminds me of K.p and Envyi’s – Shorty swing my way but talks about that special guy you have your eye on but don’t know how to make the move.

Mellow tracks such as Can’t Leave Em Alone featuring 50 Cent, My Love and So Hard show off Cici’s smooth vocals whilst the soft drum beats play in the background along to the sound of echoes.

The album has 18 tracks overall which is good value and features a lot of up-tempo tracks guaranteed to get you moving. Bonus tracks include Addicted which is a little tap based influence as well as the sound of piano keys. There is also the remix to promise with guest appearance by R Kelly.

This is definitely a solid album, which can be played from start to finish. The Evolution is an upgrade from the last so Ciara is hitting us hard!
