Vauxhall Beat Boxing
The Vauxhall sponsored Beat Boxing championships at The Rescue Rooms venue in Nottingham displayed a showcase of talented young up and coming beat boxers all vying for the prize of a brand new Vauxhall Corsa.
The Rescue Rooms are quite small compared to its sister venue, the renowned Rock City and therefore was quite suitable for a niche event such as this. Waiting till the audience was all good and drunk (as well as to make sure everyone who was planning on coming had arrived, I suppose that's good for late-comers) the championships began at around 12 and lasted through 4 knockout rounds where the audience whooped and cheered for whoever they thought was best.Nottingham's own Lyrikool Lips (Danny Ladwa) beat out Nottingham's PeteBox (so a Nottingham winner was inevitable) for the win . So Lyrikool Lips will be representing for the Midlands at the finals in London.
Lookout for the finals (in London, if I didn't already say that) as if this event was anything to go by you will see some real talent and if you don't you can always just take the piss.
