Ciara Vs Beyonce: Rate It Or Hate It

Ironically Ciara comes out with single called ‘Like a Boy’ yep, even after all of those rumours; yes you know the ones I’m talking about. The track is beside the point (it’s a bit typical just in case you were wondering), the video is what I find interesting.

The video is slightly reminiscent of Destiny’s Child ‘Soldier’, ok probably because it is black and white but it kind of has that same slick editing. Anyway, CiCi pretends to be a bloke and pulls of some amazing matrix-esque dancing in the process. Now, this being a bloke thing seems to be catching because Beyonce seems to have done the same pretending to be her beau the Jigga Man for her new video for the hit track (yeah, you read right it’s a hit, it had already gained a chart position before its single release) Upgrade U.

Though Jay-Z does eventually appear, B is left to do the rapping (or lip-synching). Now, is the Kitty Kat singer a copycat or is this just pure coincidence?

For those of you who don’t know, B is re-releasing ‘B-Day’ and has created a video anthology to go along with it. She has added some extra songs including the duet with Shakira. The videos include ‘Get Me Bodied’ (with the DC3 girls and her sister Solange making an appearance), ‘Suga Mama’, ‘Kitty Kat’, ‘Green Light’ among others. ‘Beautiful Liar’ the Shakira track is getting airplay now, you might also find the version of it without Shakira and instead Beyonce’s alter-ego Sasha singing in Spanish.
