Those of you losing sleep over poor old TI being banged up and refused bail - fear not, bail has now been granted.

Those who lose sleep over rich rappers who allegedly own large collections of illegal firearms being on the streets at night, well, probably no need to worry either, given that a bail condition is that TI, real name Clifford Harris, is monitored 24 hours a day by a private security firm until his case goes to court.

As previously reported, Harris was arrested in hometown Atlanta earlier in the month over allegations he had been illegally buying firearms. He had been refused bail, but the rapper's legal people finally convinced the courts to let him go this weekend. He has been released on a $3 million bail, and will be under house arrest, monitored by a private security firm which Harris himself will pay for. Harris' home has been searched prior to his return there, and further spot check searches are promised. His girlfriend will be able to come and go as she pleases, as will other guests, but subject to various conditions. He will be able to work while at his home.

Officials had been unwilling to let Harris go, but the rapper's lawyer this weekend argued that, given the amount of money being put up, it was hard for the courts to refuse his client bail. It is unclear when TI will now go back to court to face the illegal firearm charges. If found guilty he could face ten years in jail.
