Coldplay have announced that Jay-Z will be their main support for their 2009 tour dates.

The Brooklyn rapper will join Chris Martin and co at Manchester's LCCC (12 September), Glasgow Hampden Park (18 September) and London's Wembley Stadium (19 September).

The cross-genre team recently collaborated together for a remix of Coldplay’s ‘Lost’, entitled ‘Lost+’, which is soon to appear on their forthcoming Prospekts March EP.

Chris Martin unveiled his plans for the gigs on Chris Moyles' Breakfast Show earlier this week, saying: "Now we just want to be returning to a place from whence we came. It's a dream come true."

Tickets for the gigs go on sale this Friday (28 November) at 9.30am.
