Gym Class Heroes Announce New LP
Gym Class Heroes have announced details of their follow up to 2006’s As Cruel As School Children.
The New York alternative hip hop group’s fourth LP, The Quilt, will be released on September 9, and features a number of surprising special guests.
Drummer Matt McGinley told Artist Direct: "On this album, we did a song with Daryl Hall from Hall and Oates."
He added: "I think a lot of people would be pretty surprised to see something like that, but it definitely popped off in a really great way, and we can't wait for people to hear it."
The album has been produced by hip hop pair Cool & Dre, The-Dream (aka Terius Youngdell Nash, who also wrote Rihanna's Umbrella) and Patrick Stump of Fall Out Boy and will also feature cameos by Busta Rhymes and Estelle.
Matt insisted that that the album’s cameos were "not done in a cliché, novelty way".
The Quilt's first single, Cookie Jar, is released on July 8.
