Jennifer Lopez Has Split From Her Record Label
Jennifer Lopez Jennifer remains “grateful” for her time with the company, but is apparently keen to take her career in a new direction.
“Jennifer had a wonderful relationship with the Sony Music Group, and they have shared many successes together, but the time was right to make a change that best serves the direction of her career as an actress and recording artist. She is grateful and appreciative to everyone at Sony for all that they accomplished together," her manager Benny Medina said in a statement.
The star’s new album Love? was due to be released in April, but it is now unclear whether it will make it to stores.
There have been rumours Jennifer was dropped as label bosses were not happy with the recording, with claims the record is still not finished and will now not be released. However, other reports claims Jennifer simply came to the end of her contract and both she and the Epic were happy not to renew.
The star is already understood to be in talks with a new record label, said to be Island Def Jam.
