Rihanna thinks her family and friends are more important than having a “hot body”.

The pop star is famed for her toned physique and admits she spends hours in the gym each week working out. Despite this, she insists her looks “don’t really matter” because her career and loved ones are more important than anything else.

“It’s flattering to be told how beautiful I am of course, but all that stuff doesn’t really matter to me,” the 21-year-old star said. “My music, my family and my friends are more important than having a hot body.”

Rihanna shot to fame in 2005 when her debut album made the Top 10 in the US charts. She says her family and friends were stunned by her success, but supported her completely nonetheless.

“My family is amazed by how successful I have been, actually,” Rihanna told Top of the Pops magazine. “They can’t believe it’s me that’s doing it and travelling all over the world. They still see me as the little teenage girl who hated school.”
