50 Cent: My son expects presents from me
The 35-year-old rapper, real name Curtis James Jackson, is father to 12-year-old Marquise, his son from a previous relationship with Shaniqua Tompkins.
The platinum-selling star can afford to shower Marquise with gifts, but worries that the youngster only sees him to get presents, joking that the boy’s favourite time of year is Christmas.
“I'm a holidays dad. My son only likes me when its xmas time. I prolly wouldn't recognize him if he aint had his hands out when I see him (sic),” the rapper wrote on his Twitter page.
Although 50 Cent doesn’t get to see his son every day, he has spoken in the past about what a huge impact being a father has had on him, and has a tattoo of Marquise with an axe on his right bicep.
As the star behind platinum-selling albums such as get Rich or Die Tryin’, 50 Cent’s hugely successful career and range of product endorsements have made him one of America’s richest rappers alongside artists such as Jay-Z and P Diddy.
