Ne-Yo not interested in fame
Ne-Yo The 30-year-old R&B singer is currently promoting his fourth studio album Libra Scale. The first single from the record, Beautiful Monster, has shot to the top of music charts in the US and Britain, and Ne-Yo is thrilled it is doing so well.
He is not as excited about his increased fame however, and has vowed he will never let being a “celebrity” go to his head because he wants to be known for his music and not his personal life.
“Celebrity is a hobby for me, as opposed to a lifestyle,” he explained to British magazine More! “I don’t do this for publicity. Let the music do what it is supposed to do. You had a bad day? Put on one of my CDs. That’s what I want people to pay attention to – the music.”
Ne-Yo is expecting his first child in January. He recently revealed he is “terrified” about the prospect of being a father, but denied he was planning to marry the unborn baby’s mother.
