Kanye West reveals Beyoncé duet
Kanye West The 33-year-old hip-hop singer has not released any new material since his 2008 record 808s and Heartbreak. He announced he was working on his fifth studio album Dark Twisted Fantasy earlier this year, and let its official release date slip in an interview on WQHT Hot 97 Radio yesterday.
Kanye visited the radio station to debut another single from the upcoming album. With much fanfare, he played a song called See Me Now, which is a collaboration with Beyoncé Knowles. The song is about Kanye’s mother Donda, who died in 2007, and features the lyrics: “I know one thing / My momma would be proud / And you see me looking up / Because I know she’s looking down.”
Kanye said he and Beyoncé stayed up until the early hours of the morning to finish the track before revealing the album’s release date against his record company Def Jam’s wishes.
“They keep on telling me not to say that it’s November 16,” Kanye laughed.
Dwele, Drake, Nicki Minaj, Charlie Wilson, Eminem, Lil Wayne, Jay-Z, Kid Cudi and T.I. also feature on Dark Twisted Fantasy.
