Kelis has revealed the best thing about her job is performing outside in the summer.
The R&B singer says taking to the stage is one of the most enjoyable things about being in the music industry. She loves getting the chance to sing to her fans, especially when she can see how much they are enjoying the show. Kelis is particularly fond of touring in the summer, because she thinks the nice weather puts everyone in a better mood.
“I just like performing outside, there’s something about an outside audience,” she explained. “Summertime is the best, it’s great. People are outside, everyone’s relaxed, it’s just a good time.”
Kelis recently performed at the T4 on the Beach event held in Weston-super-Mare, England. With the sun shining and the audience singing all her lyrics back to her, the star says she couldn’t have asked for a better show.
The music event was held on July 4, American Independence Day, so Kelis decided to celebrate by making food for the other performers. “She was cooking up a storm backstage. The smell of the steaks on the BBQ was mouth watering,” a source laughed.
