Kelis: “No One Knows The Truth About My Divorce”
Kelis In an interview with Jet magazine, the 30-year-old R&B singer said that she and her ex-husband are the only ones who know the truth and that all the media speculation about why she filed for divorce is false.
"People talking were 99 per cent assumptions," she said. "They still don't know what happened or what's happening…
"They make up stories and most of it is not true."
The couple divorced last year after four years of marriage and just two months before Kelis, a born-again Christian, gave birth to their son Knight, who turns one later this month.
The singer – who appears on the cover of the US magazine – also revealed that she is now more focused on her music career, her faith in God, and raising her son.
She said: "We go about our days and we forget about how this was orchestrated. But when you're pregnant, it's hard to ignore that you wake up in the morning and all the while you're sleeping… something is working perfectly in your body.”
She added: "It's just amazing… Knight is a personification about that perfection."
Kelis releases her fifth album, Flesh Tone, later this month.
