ITV period drama ‘Mr Selfridge’ has been recomissioned for a second series.

Jeremy Piven is to reprise his role as Harry Gordon Selfridge – who founded British department store Selfridges – which will air for another 10 episodes in 2014 to coincide with the centenary of the First World War.

A number of key cast members will return to the show, and Andrew Davies will be joined again by Kate Brooke and Kate O’Riordan as lead writers on the series.

The second series will be set in 1914 in the run up the First World War, which will touch the lives of everyone in the store and see Harry turn to his family and friends to heal rifts of the past.
