Jimmy Carr and Co flop on 10 o'Clock Live
Jimmy Carr Channel Four’s 10 o’Clock Live was preceded by a warning of adult humour, but many viewers and critics were left wondering what happened to the humour.
The show returned for second series last night, which in itself was a surprise to many after it failed to be a hit the first time around. Presenters Jimmy Carr, David Mitchell, Lauren Laverne and Charlie Brooker are all well known in their own right as comedians of high calibre, but as apparent in the new series, they just can’t seem to work together.
Jimmy Carr in particular, who is possibly the biggest of the four comedians, failed to show his worth making bad jokes about the Syrian Massacre, impressions of Putin and joking about Fabio Capello’s England resignation, none of which managed to stand up to his usual material.
The show only became funny for the frequent line-fluffing being done on the show. Hopefully the show will improve in the coming weeks before any more damage is done to a few good careers.
