Eva Longoria fears Desperate Housewives death
Eva Longoria It’s been confirmed the upcoming eighth series of the American television programme will be the last. Eva has played self-centred Gabrielle Solis since it began and is still getting used to the idea it’s ending.
She hasn’t asked scriptwriters what they have in store for Gabrielle, but is hoping that her character doesn’t die.
“I don't have an opinion. For eight years I've never given a note to the writers because I trust them completely. They know Gabrielle better than I do,” she told Extra.
“[I have] no dream scenario, I don’t even know how the whole world can end. It’s just so lively and vivid and it’s been part of me for so long, eight years is a long time for any show. Every script I’m opening it going, ‘Am I dead? Am I dead yet? Am I gonna die. I’m not yet!’ I hope I don’t die. That's a wish!”
Eva refused to give away any plot secrets and also didn’t talk about her future plans.
The 36-year-old did open up about what she finds inspirational though. There are several other stars who she admires and whose careers she’d like to emulate.
“Oprah’s always been my person that I’ve always looked up to as far as her branding and everything she stands for. She’s been a great one. There’s been so many Latinas who have paved the way for us – Salma Hayek, Penélope Cruz, so there’s been some great people that I look up to for their careers,” she said.
The final season of Desperate Housewives starts in America on September 26.
