The BBC has announced plans for comprehensive coverage of this year's Glastonbury Festival.

Performances will be broadcast from six stages with a range of TV and radio programmes including headline sets, highlights, interviews and a radio triple-cast.

The triple-cast will broadcast on June 23 across 6 Music, Radio 1 and Radio 2, for a special show live from the site.

The two-hour special will see Steve Lamacq, Jo Wiley and Zane Lowe preview the festival and what to expect over the weekend.

Other presenters include festival regulars Mark Radcliffe and Lauren Laverne while Fearne Cotton and Reggie Yates will present BBC Three's coverage.

6 Music will broadcast non-stop coverage of Glastonbury over the weekend and will also feature Adam Buxton and Joe Cornish's alternative take on the festival including a special Glastonbury-themed command for Black Squadron members.

Paul Rodgers, editor of 6 Music said: "6 Music's coverage of Glastonbury has gone from strength to strength over the past few years and I'm very proud of what we've been able to achieve from a small studio in a very big field. This year will be no exception and I know that we'll be able to bring the best of the festival to our listeners."

TV coverage will be spread over three BBC channels with extended highlights of performances around the stages on the Red Button and live video streaming on the BBC website.

Headline sets from U2, Coldplay, Beyonce, and the Sunday afternoon set from Paul Simon are due to be broadcast live from the Pyramid Stage. Live sets and highlights from the festival's other stages will also be broadcast throughout the weekend, with highlights shown the following week on demand and on the BBC website.

Glastonbury takes place June 24-26, with events taking place in the days leading up to the festival.
