Ryan Seacrest linked to new "music themed" show
Ryan Seacrest It seems that Simon Cowell is not the only American Idol star who has decided to branch out on his own. Latest reports suggest that host Ryan Seacrest is planning his own music show for NBC – to be in possible direct competition with Idol.
The Hollywood reported has said that there are vague details emerging that Seacrest is developing a “music-themed” show for the network, and although his role has not been revealed it will not be a traditional competition program.
Seacrest, who currently has a $15 million contract that prevents him appearing on another network until next year, said back in March, “It doesn’t make sent to host a show competing with Idol. I think it’s possible to be the face of another show in the future, but at this point I haven’t gone down that road because Idol is a great place, I think I’ll just concentrate on that.”
Amazing what a difference a couple of months and impending freedom from a restricting contract can do.
