Steve Tyler's F-word slip on American Idol
Steve Tyler Well when you’ve been in a rock band for so many years, your language is always going to be a bit salty. Steven Tyler proved this by using the f-word on American Iold last night – but a short delay in the broadcast allowed technical wizards to censor it in time.
The singer was talking to contestant Casey Abrams following his version of Maroon 5’s Harder To Breathe when he said, “There are millions in America who are really angry because you piss then off because you are fucking good.”
Host Ryan Seacrest posted on his Twitter account after the show that the word he used “rhymed with duck” when viewers bombarded him with tweets asking what the star had said.
Later Tyler was seen sitting in his chair with duct tape over his mouth, while Randy Jackson commented, “We had to silence him for a second.” Tyler responded by tearing off the tape and saying “You can’t keep me quiet.”
The real question is, does it matter? Everyone knows what he said – mainly because they all asked Seacrest to tell them – and would it really make such a big difference to hear it out loud? It’s hardly going to bring the world crashing down. It’s just a word.
