Gwyneth Paltrow To Receive Hollywood Star

Gwyneth Paltrow is to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The 37-year-old actress will be awarded the honour next year for her contribution to the arts during her long career. She will be one of a host of stars to be recognised on Hollywood Boulevard in 2011, with Penélope Cruz, Tina Fey and Reese Witherspoon also being honoured on the famous stretch of pavement.

The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce announced the 30 stars it will pay tribute to next year at a press conference today. Chat show host Oprah Winfrey, director Sir Ridley Scott, American Idol creator Simon Fuller, TV show The Muppets and actors Donald Sutherland and Danny DeVito will also be honoured.

Former Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash and Black Eyed Peas frontman Will.i.am are the only people from the music world to be named on the list.
Posthumous stars will also be awarded to singer Buddy Holly and trumpeter Louis Prima.
