Lindsay Lohan Insists There Is No Reason To Go To Court Or Rehab
The star was ordered to attend after repeated claims she hadn’t been to enough of her court-ordered alcohol education lessons. However, while appearing at the Cannes Film Festival in France Lindsay’s passport was stolen, meaning she couldn’t get to the Beverly Hills court.
Judge Marsha Revel was unhappy with the excuse, insisting Lindsay could have been at court if she wanted. She issued a bench warrant for her arrest, but Lindsay posted the $100,000 bail meaning she avoided being incarcerated when she returned to the country over the weekend.
Although the establishment where Lindsay attended the classes insists she is in “compliance”, Judge Revel is not happy. Lindsay was ordered to attend one class a week, but has sometimes missed a lesson and made it up at a later date. At the hearing, the judge said there was evidence the actress may have breached probation. Lindsay will attend court later today, when it is expected a probation violation hearing will be scheduled.
There have been claims Lindsay could end up in prison or court-ordered rehab if she has broken her court order, but she doesn’t think that will happen.
“I don’t see what reason I would go to prison for. I’ve been in compliance with everything to do with the court system. I’ve been up to par. I’ll be done in two weeks and four days. I missed one class which I spoke to people at the program about because my uncle passed away, when I stayed in New York. I didn’t even go to the funeral so I could come back and go to a class. I don’t see why I should have to go to prison,” she said during an interview on Sunday night with Hollywood.TV which is posted on YouTube.
The star has dismissed calls for her to check into rehab. Her father Michael Lohan has repeatedly claimed Lindsay is addicted to prescription medication, allegations the actress has denied.
“I don’t see why I would have to go to rehab considering as I’ve been in compliance with everything that happens in the court system,” she said. “The only person who’s suggested such things are my father, who clearly isn’t sane.
“I try to stay as far away from him as I can. I don’t have a relationship with him.”
Over the weekend, a picture was published of Lindsay sitting next to a table with lines of white powder on it. There were immediate claims it was an illegal drug, but the star insisted the shot was set up. She has now explained the circumstances surrounding the incident in an effort to clear her name.
“I went into someone else’s room because someone came out and asked to take a photo with me. So I went into the room, took a picture and then left. I wasn’t looking around the room, I just thought I was taking a picture with a fan,” she said.
Lindsay still has some alcohol education classes to attend, and was unable to go to one yesterday as planned as the person she sees at the establishment was away.
At the hearing today, Judge Revel will lay down the conditions of Lindsay’s bail. She is expected to ban the 23-year-old from drinking alcohol and order her to be fitted with an alcohol-monitoring SCRAM bracelet. Lindsay may also be subjected to random drug testing.
