Gwyneth Paltrow Was Terrified Of Mickey Rourke
Gwyneth Paltrow The 37-year-old actress stars opposite Mickey in Iron Man 2. She was excited to meet the 57-year-old star when filming began, but was shocked when she did because he is so muscular and hairy.
While she admits she was strangely attracted to Mickey, Gwyneth says her initial reaction was one of fear.
“Oh my God, I was scared when I met Mickey for the first time. He looks very… he’s wild and amazing,” she said.
Gwyneth reprises her role as Iron Man’s lover and personal assistant Pepper Potts in the action hero sequel. She found the character extremely easy to play because she often feels like an “assistant” to her husband Chris Martin, and their children Apple, five, and four-year-old Moses.
“I feel like a lot of my life is like that – organising everyone’s schedule, buying birthday presents for parties and blah, blah blah,” Gwyneth told British magazine OK! when asked what it was like to play someone who serves others. “I feel like that’s a woman’s job anyway – you take care of you guy, your kids and your house, so I didn’t think the role was that far from my life in a lot of ways.”
