Jessica Alba had to drink through a straw while filming S&M sex scenes in her new movie because her latex costume was so tight.
The 29-year-old actress plays a prostitute in upcoming thriller The Killer Inside Me. Her character has several raunchy romps with a small town Texas sheriff, played by Casey Affleck, including sessions of spanking and erotic asphyxiation.
Jessica found the scenes incredibly difficult to film, both mentally, and because her costume was so restrictive.
“I was a complete mess emotionally,” she explained. “The latex was hot. No one would talk to me, it made people around me really uncomfortable. I was drinking through a straw.”
The film has been criticised for seeming to condone violence against women but Jessica strongly denies that it does so. She insists it shows the ugly side of love, which sees people overlook anything bad their partner does because they love them so much.
“I don’t think it’s troubling I think it’s the reality of being in love with someone. You see them with rose-coloured glasses no matter how f**ked up they are,” she told Total Film magazine.
