Kim Cattrall Says Cold Weather "Wasn't Good For The Tush"
Kim Cattrall The actress plays the secretary of a former British Prime Minister in the new political thriller, which was filmed in Germany. Kim is based in sunny Los Angeles and found the plummeting temperatures difficult to deal with on the movie set, admitting her butt was worst affected by the cold.
“It was filmed mostly in northern Germany and Berlin. We were in both those locations, mostly under extreme weather conditions,” she said in an interview for British breakfast show GMTV. “Every time we stepped out the door it was freezing cold – freezing cold! It was not good for the hair, not great for any part of you really – not good for the tush either.”
In The Ghost Writer, Ewan McGregor plays an author whose life is put in danger when he is hired to pen the memoirs of the ex-Prime Minister. It has been claimed the former leader’s character is based on Tony Blair. Kim, 53, admits she can see parallels between the two men, and she praised director Roman Polanski for building on the intrigue.
“I think there are a lot of similarities,” she said. “I think it is what Polanski does best – it is suspense, you never know who is it and who has done it, who is telling the truth and who is not. It is quite dark in places. I like those dark parts in a film; they keep you on the edge of your seat.”
