It's Bruises And Cuts For Sam Worthington
Sam Worthington The actor found fame after appearing in a series of blockbuster films, including Terminator: Salvation and Avatar. He tends to play heroes who have to fight for what they believe in, but admits the roles are challenging.
He can soon be seen in Clash of the Titans, but insists it will be the last action movie he appears in for a while. “All I seem to get is running and yelling and falling over and getting bashed up,” he said. “You name it, I've done it and have the scars to prove it. For Titans I had to learn to use a sword and shield which I thought would be easy – then I got covered in cuts and realised it's a lot harder than that.”
Getting used to swordsmanship isn’t the only thing Sam had to get to grips with while shooing the movie. He had to wear a skirt for the part, which he initially struggled with.
That was nothing compared to the horse he rides in the film though, which he has admitted he failed to bond with.
“I am having fun apart from one thing. I hate my horse. The horse is a diva! It’s done a lot more films than I have and it hates me as much as I hate it,” he said. “I suggested to the director Louis Leterrier that we do a scene where I get into a fight with it, but the horse didn’t want to. I’m not scared of much but I am scared of that thing, and it knows it. It can smell the fear.”
