Mickey Rourke Mickey Rourke says his costume for the Iron Man 2 was “really brutal”.
The actor plays villain Ivan Vanko, aka Whiplash, in the action movie sequel, and has revealed the outfit was tortuous to wear. Mickey said the experience of shooting the film was more uncomfortable than starring in violent film The Wrestler, which saw him get punched, stamped and stapled.
“It was really brutal. My Iron Man suit weighed 23lbs and it was torture to wear. It was sort of a half-suit, with half my skin showing, with lots of Russian tattoos,” he explained. “It was hard to get on, hard to wear and agony to take off.”
Mickey was recently confirmed to have signed to star as the father in new movie Conan, telling the story of Conan the Barbarian. The fantasy adventure will be shot in Bulgaria.
