The TV star has developed a close bond with her Pomeranian puppy Sid and takes him everywhere she goes. Kelly has revealed she was left terrified after the naughty pooch tracked down the mint breath freshening sweet and began tucking into it at a friend’s house. The 25-year-old realised Sid was feeling ill when she got home and made a hasty trip to the vet.
“I had a real scare last week – I thought my dog Sid was going to die. I was at a friend’s house and he’d been chewing on a pack of sugar-free gum. Back home, his head started lolling around. I rushed him to the vet and he was put on a drip to get his blood sugar levels back up,” she explained in her column for Closer magazine. “Turns out an ingredient in the gum is dangerous to little dogs! I am so relieved he’s OK.”
Kelly is fiercely protective of Sid and is determined not to let him come to any harm. She recently revealed she had bought the tiny dog a life jacket because she was scared he would drown in the pool at her parents Sharon and Ozzy’s house. “Luke and I just bought a life jacket for Sid for when he goes to my mum's house because he always tries to jump in the pool!” Kelly wrote on her Twitter page. “the dog weighs 1lbs if he fell in the pool he would not be able to get out! (sic).”
