Cheryl Cole's Brother Calls Ashley Spineless And Weak
Cheryl Cole The Girls Aloud singer announced she was separating from her soccer player husband last month, after a string of woman claimed they had slept with him. She is yet to publicly discuss her marriage problems, although Ashley has said his life has been “ruined”.
Cheryl’s brother Andrew Tweedy has now spoken out about the claims, insisting there is no excuse for the way Ashley has treated the singer.
He claims none of Cheryl’s family will ever forgive the sportsman for allegedly cheating on her.
“I know women throw themselves at footballers all the time but that’s no excuse. He’s a weak, weak, weak man for not being able to resist,”
Andrew told British newspaper The Daily Mirror. “My heart bleeds for Cheryl, I know what she’s going through. This has really hurt her. She has a heart of gold and does not deserve it. Ashley Cole is arrogant and I will never forgive him for what he has done to my little sister.”
Cheryl has repeatedly spoken of her desire to become a mother, and before the scandal broke had hinted she would like to get pregnant sooner rather than later. Andrew has now received the star was hoping to start a family with Ashley in the coming months, and was even considering taking time off from her hectic work schedule to concentrate on starting a family.
“She saw him as the father to their kids. That’s why she married him and that’s why he has left her heartbroken. Having kids with him, becoming a mother, that’s all Cheryl has ever really wanted. She comes from a big family we are all still close and the maternal instinct is really strong in her,” he explained. “The public humiliation makes it ten times worse, but for her not being able to start a family is the hardest part.”
In 2008, Ashley was accused of sleeping with a hairdresser following a drunken night out. Cheryl removed her wedding ring after the claims were made public, and didn’t put it back on for eight months.
Andrew has revealed he didn’t expect his sister to give the soccer player a second chance that time, and is now convinced the pair will divorce. “I believe the house is going up for sale and she is going to get it sold as soon as possible and move on with her life,” he said.
He also claimed Cheryl, 26, had spoken to Ashley recently, while he is receiving treatment for his broken ankle in France. It was previously not known if the two were communicating, although there have been repeated claims Cheryl has agreed to meet with her estranged husband to discuss their relationship.
Cheryl and Ashley met in 2004, and married in a lavish ceremony two years later.
