Cheryl Cole To Fly To France To See Ashley
Cheryl Cole The singer announced she was separating from the soccer player last week, after a string of women claimed to have slept with him. Ashley left the couple’s Surrey mansion and travelled to France to receive treatment for his broken ankle shortly before the statement was released, and the couple haven’t seen each other since.
The sportsman has been bombarding Cheryl with messages and calls begging to be given another chance. Although Cheryl has told those close to her the marriage is over, she has apparently agreed to meet with Ashley to hear him out. “Cheryl wants to be tough with Ashley and believes that will be easier on neutral ground,” a source explained to British newspaper The Sun.
The 26-year-old will apparently allow Ashley just 15 minutes to explain himself. The soccer player has sent Cheryl hundreds of pleading messages in a bid to secure the meeting, and has apparently started texting her lyrics to her own songs to show how dedicated he is.
When the singer received one saying, ‘We’ve got to Fight For This Love’, in reference to her first solo tune, she apparently didn’t know whether to “laugh or cry”.
Although Ashley is pleased Cheryl has agreed to see him, he is believed to have accepted there is little chance of mending their fractured relationship.
The sportsman has told his Chelsea soccer club teammates the marriage is over, and has asked for them to support him through his heartbreak. “Deep down he must have known it was pretty hopeless trying to change Cheryl’s mind but he gave it his best shot nonetheless," a source told British newspaper The Daily Mirror. “But after not being sure at first, Cheryl has now made it pretty clear the marriage is over. No matter how hard Ashley pleads his case, Cheryl is staying firm. He’s told his teammates that it’s definitely over and he’s messed up. He’s a very popular member of the team and they are all there for him should he need them."
