Robbie Williams Quitting Smoking To Improve Sperm Count
Robbie Williams The 37-year-old singer once puffed his way through 60 cigarettes a day, but has now slashed his intake to 10, and hopes to quit completely in the next few weeks. He is reportedly giving up nicotine because his fiancée Ayda Field is worried it will affect his fertility.
“Ayda is very keen to start a family and knows the damage tobacco can do to sperm,” a source told British newspaper The Sun. “It's hard for Rob to say no to the woman he loves at the best of times, but it's even harder when, far from nagging him about smoking, she gives practical support and offers to be there for him when he's finding it tough.
“He has promised Ayda he will crack it. Now it's just a matter of when he's ready.”
Ayda has also put Robbie on a strict exercise regime to ensure he is in good shape for their upcoming wedding. She has reportedly forced the singer to hire a trainer so he can shed the pounds he has piled on in recent years. She hopes a new toned physique will inspire Robbie to finally set a wedding date, something he has been resisting.
"Robbie is training hard,” a source said. “He is enjoying it and wants to do Ayda proud. She's putting pressure on him to shape up and set a wedding date."
Robbie asked Ayda to marry him in January and is said to be considering tying the knot on Valentine’s Day next year.
