Autopsy On Marie Osmond's Son Inconclusive
An autopsy carried out on Marie Osmond’s teenage son is “inconclusive”.
Michael Blosil, 18, died on Friday, after apparently jumping from his eight storey apartment in Los Angeles. An autopsy was carried out on Sunday, but the cause of his death has been deferred which toxicology tests are carried out.
It has been claimed the Los Angeles County Coroner wants to know whether drugs and alcohol played a part in Michael’s death. Further tests are underway, with the results expected in around six weeks.
It has been reported Michael left a suicide note before his death, revealing he was battling depression. Coroner’s officials are now set to talk to his family to find out why he would have wanted to take his own life.
Michael was one of Marie’s eight children. He spent time in rehab in 2007, when he was just 16. The reason for his stay was never revealed, but Marie spoke of her pride at her son’s decision to seek help.
Michael was studying at Los Angeles’ Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising at the time of his death, and the establishment is now planning a memorial to help his schoolmates deal with his death.
“All associates and students at FIDM are deeply saddened by the tragic loss of our treasured student, Michael Blosil, and we send heartfelt condolences to his family and friends," the institute's president, Tonian Hohberg, said in a statement. "A floral memorial is being placed in the rotunda of our main college building where students and associates can add their remembrances and thoughts."
Marie is said to be in a state of “disbelief” following Michael’s death. She is in Las Vegas, where she and her brother Donny are appearing in a show. The Donny & Marie show at Flamingo Las Vegas has been put on hold until March 9.
“They're doing the best they can,” a friend said, referring to the family. “They're all together. She's taking care of her family. They're all trying to explain that certain bad things happen while they grieve at the same time. They're trying to understand and make sense of it.”
