Lily Allen Blasts Courtney Love
It has been claimed the two singers has a furious row at the recent NME Awards, resulting in Lily fleeing the ceremony with her boyfriend Sam Cooper. Courtney was upset with Lily as she thought the 24-year-old had stopped anyone else wearing a Chanel outfit to a previous awards ceremony, as Lily models for the brand.
Lily admits they did exchange words at the NME Awards in Brixton, London, on Wednesday night, but insists she wasn’t as teary as some reports suggested.
“just clearing a couple of things up. Courtney Love and I did NOT have a bust up at the NME'S. There was an exchange of words, yes,” Lily wrote on her Twitter page. “she's upset because she has got it into her head that i put a lock on some dresses for the brit awards. she's made no secret of this and, when i saw her at the NME'S she tried to talk to me and i told her to shut up stop spreading stupid rumours about me. and thats pretty much it. i would never fight with her , as a rule i don't pick on crazy old ladies (sic).”
Lily’s fans immediately began messaging her using the social networking site, with many asking if she was feeling alright following the altercation. One of her fans expressed his disbelief that anyone could put a “lock” on a piece of clothing, prompting Lily to start on another rant.
“no but it's the sort of thing a paranoid drug addled lunatic might come up with (sic),” she wrote, when asked if such behaviour really happened.
Lily is believed to have used her Twitter page to lash out at Courtney after the 45-year-old made some disparaging remarks about her on the social networking site. Courtney used Twitter to discuss the pair’s argument, saying Lily was on a diet of “self-loathing”.
“I know most people in rock and music in London and I don't know one human being that likes this person. I just don't get it,” she wrote. “She's on a diet of Haterade and cat hiss and self-loathing. It was ugly, she was obviously jealous. So insecure, it's catchy, I just don't get it.”
