Gemma Arterton: I'm Faster Than Sam
Gemma Arterton Sam Worthington was furious when he realised Gemma Arteron could run faster than him.
The Australian actor stars opposite the 23-year-old British beauty in new action epic Clash of the Titans, with Liam Neeson and Ralph Fiennes. Gemma is the only female in the film, and claims the men were shocked when they discovered how athletic she was.
“I had to do lots of sprinting and I was the fastest sprinter, even faster than Sam Worthington,” she told Total Film magazine. “He can’t get over the fact that a girl is a faster runner than him! I was more competitive than anyone else on set so that was just the cherry on top.”
Gemma loved filming fight scenes for the movie and took pleasure in doing all her own stunts. She claims the men treated her as one of their own, and never made her feel like she was weak or incapable.
“I felt so action-y,” she gushed. “I love all that stuff. I was the only female on the set and it was cool. They included me, I just mucked in.”
