Katy Perry The singer began dating the British comedian last year, with the pair getting engaged on New Year’s Eve. Russell was previously renowned for his womanising ways, and has been open about his battles with sex and drug addiction. He used to love gathering notches on his bedpost, but since meeting Katy he is a totally changed man.
Katy admits Russell’s past can be hard to deal with, laughing she feels pressure to perform when they retire for the night. “Can you imagine the kind of responsibility I have with his reputation? I’m bedridden most of the week,” she laughed.
The 25-year-old added she is attracted to Russell because of his intellect, explaining she feels cleverer just being in the same room as him. Katy likes that Russell, 34, takes charge of their romance, explaining it is the first time she hasn’t been in the driving seat.
“I like that. I’ve been waiting for someone I couldn’t steamroll,” she explained in a magazine interview. “I can still shock though. I’m marrying one of the world’s most scandalous men. How is that toning down?”
The star thinks her beau is the best-looking man on the planet and swoons at his appearance, which she claims is a mix of Doors legend Jim Morrison, criminal Charles Manson, Jesus and Elvis Presley.
