Amy Winehouse Arranging For Ex-Husband To Join Her In Jamaica
Amy Winehouse is arranging for her ex-husband Blake Fielder Civil to join her in Jamaica.
The singer has jetted to the Caribbean island to finish work on her new album, her first since 2006’s Back to Black. Although her record label has specified she must complete the record during her stint on the sunshine isle, Amy has decided to fly Blake out to keep her company.
The couple divorced last year on the grounds of Amy’s infidelity. Blake is currently living in Sheffield in northern England as part of the grounds of his early release from prison, where he served time for grievous bodily harm and trial fixing. He and Amy have become close again after talking on the phone, and she is keen to spend as much time together as possible when he ends his court-ordered rehab in the city at the end of the week.
“Amy and Blake want to spend some time together away from home where they have been governed by his curfew,” a source explained to British newspaper The Sun. “She is desperate for him to join her and of course he wants a nice holiday and some fun. Friends have tried talking her out of it – at the moment she’s more focused on work than she has been for ages.”
Amy decided to travel to Jamaica following her lengthy break in St. Lucia last year. She used the time on the island to battle her addiction to drugs, and fell in love with the slow-paced way of life.
Her management and record label are happy for her to spend time in Jamaica, but have made it clear she needs to do as much work as possible while there and not treat it as a holiday.
Amy and Blake married while on holiday in Miami in 2007. Friends of the pair are concerned their rekindled romance could see both of them return to drug taking, and it has been rumoured they are planning to re-marry while in Jamaica.
