Howard Stern To Replace Simon On American Idol?
Howard Stern is in talks to replace Simon Cowell as a judge on American Idol.
The shocking radio DJ has revealed he would love to land the role, after the music mogul announced he was leaving the talent show to pursue other projects. Howard is known for making outrageous comments and believes he would be perfect for the programme. He is even willing to quit his Sirius radio show if he does join the American Idol judging panel alongside Randy Jackson, Ellen DeGeneres and Kara DioGuardi.
"There's not a better job on the planet than judging that f**king karaoke contest. If I do say so myself, I can't imagine anyone else but me replacing him,” Stern said on his radio show. “How else are they going to make that show work? Who knows how to broadcast and who knows how to be interesting? And who's not afraid to speak their mind?"
Although the shock jock is keen to join the series, he is demanding a huge salary before he signs a deal. Stern’s current five-year radio contract is worth $500 million and expires at the end of this year and he isn’t willing to take a pay cut.
"What a cush job - $100 million for four months. Who wouldn't take that? They'd have to pay me a ton of dough because I already make a ton of dough. $100 million to judge a karaoke contest? Yeah, I would do that show for $100 million," he insisted.
