Sandra Bullock Wants To Wear A Cut-Price Dress
Sandra Bullock wants to wear a cut-price dress to this year’s Academy Awards.
The actress has been nominated for the Best Actress Oscar for her role in The Blind Side, in which she plays a woman who gives an underprivileged teenager a home. Sandra still can’t believe she is in the running for the prestigious accolade, and has joked she will buck tradition by wearing an economy gown to the event.
“It’s crazy the amount of designers who have been in touch. I mean JCPenny called me and I said, 'You know what? Give me some sketches and I'll see what I can do.' K-Mart, bring it on. I want Walmart, K-Mart, JCPenny. If you belt a set of overalls, you’re good to go,” she joked.
Sandra found out about her nomination in the early hours of the morning when she was still in bed. She tried to keep quiet as her husband Jesse James was asleep in bed next to her, but didn’t do as good a job as she initially thought.
“As my husband said I’ll forever be known as a prefix now, it’ll be all, ‘Oscar-nominee Sandra Bullock.’ I said, ‘What’s a prefix?’ The fact that he knew what one was and I didn’t at the time, but it was at 5am when he said it so that’s OK,” she told Entertainment Tonight. “I found out the news in the dark, I answered the phone and I was trying to be really quiet about it and hang up and leave the room because I thought he was still asleep, and then in the dark I just hear, ‘Congratulations, you’ll always be known as a prefix.’ ”
