Tobey Maguire was such an enthusiastic poker player that he had separate bank accounts devoted to funding his habit, it has been reported.

The two checking accounts labelled “Poker Account” and “Poker Account (2)” reportedly show how organised his gambling was.

In legal documents obtained by RadarOnline, the star is shown to have written out cheques for thousands of dollars to pay off debts in games he had lost.

Tobey penned a cheque for $105,000 to Ponzi schemer Brad Ruderman in 2009 and wrote another cheque to him two months later for $28,500.

The married father-of-two had also reportedly flown by private jet to play in high-stakes poker games in Texas.

These games are said to have a minimum buy in of $1million to participate.

Tobey has filed a legal response to a lawsuit against him by victims of Brad Ruderman’s ponzi scheme.

The trustees of Brad’s bankruptcy case want him to pay back the $300,000 he won from the disgraced financier to reimburse people who were victims of the scheme.

But the actor is claiming he also lost money to Brad so should not have to pay up in the lawsuit.
