Simon Cowell’s romance with a make-up artist is “getting serious”, according to friends.

The music mogul hasn’t been in a steady relationship since he split from TV presenter Terri Seymour in 2008. However, in recent months he has been dogged by rumours he is dating stunning brunette Mezhgan Hussainy, and the pair were photographed enjoying dinner together on Saturday night. This is the first time Simon has been seen out in public with Mezghan. They were joined by two friends as they ate at exclusive Chinese eatery Mr Chow in London’s Knightsbridge district.

“They looked cosy. It was clear there was real chemistry between them. He seemed smitten and she likewise,” a source told British newspaper The Daily Mirror. “It’s getting serious.”

Rumours Simon was dating Mezhgan surfaced last summer. It has been claimed they kept their romance a secret and have been arranging covert dinner dates and holidays since. The 36-year-old make-up artist is believed to have fallen for Simon after they began working together to help launch Susan Boyle’s music career last year. Mezhgan also worked on American Idol, which Simon is a judge on.

“Simon is clearly very enamoured with Mezhgan. She is absolutely stunning, not to mention incredibly intelligent and cultured,” a source said.

Mezhgan was born in Afghanistan, but her family were forced to flee the country in 1981 and were later given permission to move to America.

A spokeswoman for Simon has refused to reveal details of his new relationship, saying: “We’re not commenting. Simon’s private life is private.”
