Jordan And Alex Reid Want To Adopt A Baby From Haiti
Jordan Katie and Alex began dating shortly after her marriage to Peter Andre ended last year. They married in Las Vegas earlier this week, and are said to be desperate to start a family. Katie raises three kids with Peter, but wants to add to her brood by having a child with Alex.
However, it has been claimed cage fighter Alex may be unable to father children of his own as he has previously used steroids and growth hormones. Katie has previously said she would like to adopt, and is said to have told Alex they will give a home to a child left orphaned by the devastating Haiti earthquake if she does not fall pregnant soon.
“She just told him, ‘We will adopt.’ He has always joked that he worries he may not be able to have kids,” a source told British newspaper The Daily Star. “He was with his ex Marie for years and they never used protection when they had sex. We all hope it’s not true because he would make an amazing dad.”
Katie has been inspired by Hollywood couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, who has three adopted children from different parts of the world. She would love to give impoverished kids a new life, and could start looking into the process as soon as she and Alex return home from Las Vegas.
Katie and Alex’s decision to marry came as a shock to many, with claims her mother Amy did not know about the wedding. Alex’s parents revealed they had no idea about the impending nuptials, but insist they are happy for their son.
Alex won UK reality programme Celebrity Big Brother last week, and since then both he and Katie have given a string of interviews discussing their love. They began shopping for their wedding as soon as they touched down in Las Vegas, although Katie was apparently keen to keep expenses down.
“Katie asked to see the cheapest rings we have,” said jewellery salesman Adam Martinez, who sold the couple their wedding bands. “She seemed serious so I showed her a $59 ring. She was like, ‘No, I don’t like that.’ Alex asked Katie for her opinion but she just said, ‘You should decide because you’re the one who’s going to have to wear it.’ It didn’t seem very romantic.”
The pair got married in a simple ceremony at the Wynn Hotel, and spent their wedding night at a strip club. It has been claimed they had their first argument as a married couple at the club, with Katie annoyed Alex was staring at the dancers.
“Katie and Alex are a lively duo. They’d only been married about seven hours when they had their first row, and it wasn’t pretty,” a source told British newspaper The Daily Mirror. “Alex was drooling over a lapdancer and Kate gave him a stern telling off. She declared, ‘Maybe we’ve married too soon,’ before turning on her high heels. Alex apologised profusely and within minutes the pair were once again lovers not fighters.”
