Lindsay Lohan breaks silence about living under house arrest
Lindsay Lohan In her first magazine interview since beginning her sentence on 26 May, Lohan reveals that she misses not being able to leave her luxury three-bedroom home in Venice Beach while she carries out her court-ordered punishment.
"I am a very social person, and do I like being outside, especially in Venice Beach. I would like to get out more – just going out and having dinner,” she tells Life & Style magazine.
She adds: "I was really upset not being able to go to my little brother’s recent birthday party. He just turned 16. That bummed me out."
The 24-year-old actress says she fills her days by holding business meetings and spending time with family and friends.
"I’ve been having a lot of work-related meetings. Sometimes my friends come over. And I get to see my sister, Ali, which is nice," she says.
The former Mean Girls star also tells the magazine that alcohol is not allowed at her home as she tries to straighten out her life and re-establish her career.
"When my friends come over, they are not drinking. Alcohol is not in my house, so it’s just not a part of my life,” she says.
Lohan's house arrest is due to end on 29 June, after which she must complete an additional period of community service. She then plans to get back to work in August.
She said: "You go through experiences. I do understand that I need to gain some of the respect back, but I’m willing to work hard for that. I understand the situations I’ve put myself in, and I don’t want to go back to that.”
