Katy Perry Found Out Russell Brand Was Going To Propose On The Internet
Katy Perry While Katy was delighted when he asked her to marry him, she admits she wasn’t surprised as she had already read what he was planning.
“Unfortunately, I still Google myself sometimes. I saw it on Google alerts. I'm going to be honest,” she said at the Grammy Awards last night.
Despite the proposal lacking the surprise element, Katy insists it was still a magical moment. Russell went all out to make the event special, and still can’t believe Katy said yes. “There was an elephant involved and it was New Year’s Eve. We were on an elephant just before it. We were in India. It was at midnight, and it is not a good idea to be on the back of an elephant during a fireworks display,” Russell laughed.
“They can't tell the difference between an apocalypse and New Year's Eve,” Katy explained.
Later in the evening, the couple had their first public row after Russell made some distasteful jokes about drugs. “Grammys... I know why it’s called that. That’s how much coke you need to cope with it,” the former drug and sex addict said.
Katy was appalled at the comment, and immediately fumed: “Stop it and behave! I don’t want to upset the Grammys. I want one!”
The pair eventually made up, with Katy relieved her pals Taylor Swift and Rihanna got on well with her fiancé. It was the first time Russell had met the girls, but they apparently loved his cheeky sense of humour.
