January Jones: Betty is unpleasant
January Jones The actress plays ice-queen Betty Draper in the US television series. The show revolves around a New York advertising firm in the 1960s.
“I don’t like her, I don’t think we could become friends, but I understand her goals and I refuse to judge her,” January told Madame Figaro magazine. “The more confident she becomes, the more unpleasant she is. I only hope she will light up in the next episodes.”
Television network executives initially struggled to make a deal with Mad Men creator Matthew Weiner but new episodes of the television show will air next year.
The 33-year-old actress appears to favour her character Emma Frost in the eagerly anticipated movie X Men: First Class over Betty.
“[Emma] is a smart manipulator, self-confident about herself and about her power over men,” January said. “I admire the mystery she has and her flawless determination.”
Emma’s powers include being able to transform into a diamond and being capable of reading people’s minds.
“We could say that her reality is far away from mine!” added January. “She is ready for everything, even to lose her own life in order to accomplish her mission alongside Professor X.”
