'I have a body like Dick Van Dyke,' claims Ryan Reynolds
Ryan Reynolds The Wolverine star, who has been voted People magazine’s 'sexiest man alive', says he spends months working out for movie roles – and then loses his physique as soon as filming has finished.
"My body in its natural state is virtually a mirror image of Dick Van Dyke," he said.
"I think some people have this idea that I look like that and work out like that 365 days a year. It's six months to get yourself there and then it goes away in about 45 minutes."
Reynolds, who is married to actress Scarlett Johansson, follows in the footsteps of George Clooney, Brad Pitt and Matt Damon in being named the sexiest man alive in 2010.
The 34-year-old joked about the accolade and said he was shocked he managed to sneak the title from 'dreamy' George Clooney.
"In some ways it's sort of humbling in a weird way. I know that's sort of a paradox for the title 'sexiest man'," he told interviewer Chris Connolly.
"I think when you come from Canada there's an element of self-deprecation that's kind of hard wired into your DNA."
