Michael Urie relives private embarrassment
Michael Urie The 30-year-old actor plays eccentric personal assistant Marc St. James in the popular US comedy series about life at a hip New York fashion magazine.
The programme’s stars also include actresses Becki Newton and America Ferrera, and Michael admits Becki once saw him in a rather compromising situation as he shot a cross-dressing sequence.
“There was... a time on Ugly Betty when I had to wear a dress and at one point my bits popped out and Becki Newton (Amanda) saw everything!” blushed the star, during an interview with Closer magazine.
Michael confesses he had another embarrassing encounter when he was at the shops buying bathroom essentials and a magazine which featured an interview with him he had been keen to read. An Ugly Betty fan also at the store recognised the actor and stopped for a chat, leaving Michael red-faced and attempting to conceal his purchases.
“Getting recognised in a queue at the grocery store buying toilet paper and a magazine that I was in,” replied the star when asked for his most cringe-worthy moment.
“Luckily I wasn’t on the cover – that would have been worse!” he added.
