Julia Roberts: I love salty snacks
Julia Roberts The Hollywood star enjoys cooking and eating good food, which is part of the reason her movie eat Pray Love appealed to her. It tells the story of a woman who goes travelling after a difficult divorce, and Julia was allowed to indulge her love of different delicacies while shooting.
The 42-year-old doesn’t understand people who don’t find eating joyful; explaining feasting on salty treats is one of her favourite pastimes. “My success never went to my head. I have always been very settled with my family and friends. I never had the tendency to excesses - be it drugs or sex,” she explained to the German edition of OK! magazine. “My only vice is - I confess it frankly - potato chips.”
Julia is married to cameraman husband Danny Moder and they have five-year-old twins Hazel and Phinnaeus and Henry, three, together. Becoming a parent changed Julia dramatically, and she’s still getting used to caring for her kids.
Julia says the biggest change was having to plan her day, and become creative with her time.
“If you have children you learn pretty fast to distinguish between important and non-important things. And you have to budget you energy, otherwise you are quickly exhausted and can't hack it,” she explained. “I always ask myself, ‘Will this increase our quality of life as a family - yes or no?’ If the answer is no, I try not to let it keep me back.
“I am much more smooth and balanced because of Danny. And with my children I get to know the wonders of life every day in a new way. At home we have lots of love and devotion.”
