Seal: I love Britain
Seal The musician was born in London, but moved to America in the 80s to pursue his music career. Even though he hasn’t lived in Britain for more than two decades, he still feels a deep connection to his birthplace. Seal is married to German model Heidi Klum and the couple live in a Los Angeles mansion with the four children they raise together.
While the 47-year-old singer spends most of his time in the US, he relishes the opportunity to visit the UK whenever his hectic schedule allows.
“London will always be home,” Seal explained. “I think that if you are born in London, there is that old saying, ‘You can take the boy out of London, but you can’t take London out of the boy.’
“Even though I have been in Los Angeles for over 20 years now, it never quite feels like home. There is that certain sense of security when you come back to London.”
Seal and Heidi have become close friends with David and Victoria Beckham since the British couple moved to the US when David signed a lucrative deal with the Los Angeles Galaxy soccer team in 2007. The stars now live close by each other and their children enjoy playing together. Seal is full of admiration for David and Victoria and has revealed they often visit each other’s houses.
“We don’t literally live next to the Beckhams, but we live on the same street,” Seal said. “Our kids go to the same school so I see them in the morning and they come over for play dates.
“David is a lovely guy, he is really nice. They both are.”
