Oprah Winfrey gives brides-to-be free Vera Wang gowns
Oprah Winfrey Wang, 61, sat by the chat show host as she unveiled the surprise, which brought tears and screeches of delight from her audience members.
The designer gowns are from Wang’s new White collection which is going on sale at David’s Bridal in the US next year. Prices will range from $600 to $1,400.
Wang has dressed scores of celebrity brides, including Bill Clinton’s daughter Chelsea this summer.
She also provided one of the wedding dresses for Carrie Bradshaw’s Vogue photoshoot in the original Sex and the City movie.
But the wedding gowns were not Oprah’s only surprise for her 50 prospective brides.
She also lavished them with a $4,000 gift card to spend at any Marriott hotel and resort location and United Airlines travel vouchers for anywhere in the United States, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands and Canada.
