Drew Barrymore: I leave crazy tips
Drew Barrymore The actress is part of the famous Barrymore acting family, but insists she wasn’t spoilt or over-indulged as a child. She has been acting since she was a baby, and did all she could to make extra money as a youngster. Drew worked in a coffee shop at one point, and makes sure she always remembers what she went through before becoming a success.
“I feel like I’m so grateful for my life. I really love my family and I feel their blood in my veins. But I grew up in a very un-posh environment with a struggling single mother. We were both paying the rent together. It was a tough circumstance, but I think that gave me a sense of gratitude,” she explained.
“I worked as a waitress so I’m a crazy tipper – I respect people that work. I work myself really hard and I think to be raised in a working class environment was very helpful. As extraordinary and fancy and decadent as the Barrymores are I did not grow up in that kind of environment.”
Drew, 35, loves her job and makes sure she gives every project she is involved with her all. She still takes time to relax though, and enjoys hanging out with her friends and gossiping over a glass of wine.
“I have very adult responsibilities but I’m always trying to have fun in life,” she said. “But I do go to my office and I work diligently. God, I work like 350 days a year, getting to a vacation is a miracle.”
