Despite being a massive star having won three Golden Globes, his relatives still view Ricky the same as they always did.
According to British New magazine Gervais said: "They don't think I'm a film star, they don't think I'm an actor - they don't think I'm anything."
He added: "They just think I'm the little fat t**t I always was."
Although the 49-year-old admits he would never lose weight for a role and adds that he has to throw away his clothes every three months because he gets too fat for them.
